Cable kits are advantageous in small confined areas such as bathrooms, whereas cable mats are a popular choice for larger areas, as the cable is pre-attached to a mesh. The mats are available in 2 outputs, 150w/sqm for internal rooms and 200w/sqm for conservatories. To ensure a comfortable fit, always select a mat size that is at least 10-15% smaller than the free floor area of the room.

It uses the latest design heating cable with an earth screen and a double insulation layer; the heating cable is simply installed within a flexible tile adhesive layer or thin levelling compound. It is then connected to an electrical supply via the digital thermostat, which regulates the floor temperature. This has a 7 day timer and can be programmed to suit your individual requirements.
We always recommend a qualified electrician carry out the electrical connections in accordance with current wiring regulations.

The heating capabilities and warm up times will vary depending on the sub-floor, but insulated floors will perform better than un-insulated floors. In all cases, the use of a tile backer insulation board will greatly reduce warm up times and subsequent running costs.
The board is a foam core insulation board with cement polymer coating on both sides to make it the perfect insulation for tiled floors, in thickness from 6mm to 60mm. If however, you do not have the room to install tile backer boards, we would recommend using an insulating primer such as Thermacoat.

This is a special heating film, specifically designed for installation beneath wood or laminate floors. At less than 0.5mm thick, it has a negligible effect on floor height. The film is laid over 6mm Depron floor insulation, which replaces the standard flooring underlay, to give a minimal effect on your floor height - less than 6.5mm.
